Because of its physical properties Cadmiumtelluride is ideally suited to the highly efficient conversion of radiant energy to electrical energy. This means that CdTe is perfect for use as a solar active material for thin film modules. Other advantages of the CdTe modules are the comparatively simple and therefore low-cost manufacturing process, the excellent Energy-Pay-Back-Time of approx. 1.5 years, the minimal sensitivity to temperature as well as the attractive, uniform and dark look.
